Get ready for your first pickup

What to confirm, label, and set aside before your driver arrives.

Get ready for your first pickup

Confirm the booking

Before pickup day, check that SydCam has the correct address, contact name, phone number, and shipment details. Confirm the collection date and any agreed arrival window. If you have only requested a quote or pickup, contact the team to confirm the booking before making final arrangements.

Prepare each item

Count your barrels and boxes and label each one clearly. Keep your customer number and shipment reference with your paperwork. If the quantity, dimensions, contents, or destination have changed since the quote, tell SydCam before the driver arrives so the team can review the arrangement.

Plan the handover

Choose a dry, accessible handover area. Tell the team about stairs, elevators, parking restrictions, security desks, or locked gates in advance. Have an authorized person available to identify the items being collected. Keep valuable paperwork separate from sealed cargo so you can refer to it during collection.

Keep the confirmation

Check the item count during handover and retain any collection confirmation provided. Keep photos of your labels and packed items for your own records. Afterwards, use your account or shipment reference when asking SydCam about the next stage. Report a discrepancy promptly rather than waiting for delivery.
